A CNC plasma cutter is a machine that combines a standard hand operated plasma cutter, with a flat cutting bed and motorised gantry. Controlled by a computer, the machine drives the plasma cutting head around the cutting area to create millimeter accurate metal parts and designs.

Made and perfected in Australia
We firmly believe that Australian manufacturing is right up there with the best. And that’s why our range of CNC Plasma Cutters are designed and made right here in Australia.
In addition, SUREFIRE CNC partners with other leading manufacturers globally – such as Hypertherm plasma cutters, to develop CNC equipment solutions that deliver what Aussie fabricators are looking for.
About Surefire CNC Plasma Cutters
- Available in a range of sizes
SUREFIRE CNC have developed an extensive range of CNC Plasma cutting tables, available in common sizes including;
- 1.2m x 1.2m
- 1.2m x 2.4m
- 1.5m x 3m
- 2m x 4m
- Designed with Aussies in mind
The SUREFIRE CNC Plasma table range has developed specifically to meet the needs of Australian metal fabricators who need a unit that is;
- Durable and suitable for industrial use
- Easy to operate
- Locally backed up with Australian technical support
- Cost effective
- Affordable Plasma Tables
With a SUREFIRE table, you don’t need to be a millionaire or a computer wiz to be able to design and cut metal parts in your own workshop. Whether you’re are a first-time CNC user or just looking to up-spec existing capacity, SUREFIRE CNC tables are ready to help you take control of your metal parts design and production.
Available as a complete CNC package customised to your application, including a plasma cutter, software, and full suite of accessories.
- The SUREFIRE Advantage
- User-friendly operating software
- Water bed included
- Cutting speeds up to 10,000mm per minute gives excellent results even on very thin materials
- Heavy duty bearings assures extended service life
- Fume Control
Most CNC Plasma Tables from SUREFIRE CNC come complete with a ‘waterbed’ or ‘water table.’
Waterbeds are a very effective way of helping to control fumes when cutting with plasma. Most fumes and fine metal dust are trapped by the water under the plate being cut. This minimises the dust accumulating in your workshop for a healthier and more productive environment. The waterbed also helps cool material being cut which dramatically reduces distortion. Cut items will be significantly cooler and much safer to handle.
- Plate Thickness Capacity
Cutting capacity will depend on which plasma cutter you chose. We offer various models for use with our tables, the largest being the Maxpro 200 which will comfortably cut & pierce up to 32mm steel.
(Note that in CNC applications, most cutting starts with piercing rather than edge start. Whilst the Powermax 125 for example will cut up to 38mm steel with edge-start cutting, pierce capacity is 25mm.)In terms of weight capacity, the SUREFIRE CNC XT range of tables are built to easily support full sheets of up 32mm steel plate.
- Software
Often overlooked in the buying journey, the software is one of the most critical aspects of any decent CNC Plasma cutter. Our tables use the SureControl software platform, and unlike other options on the market, it uses it’s own imbedded mini computer to control the motion of the machine. This is incredibly important, as it means that machine motion doesn’t become ‘jerky’ or inconsistent when the external computer is overloaded with commands.
Key features of SureControl:
- Integrated torch height control (THC)
- Floating head or ohmic sensing torch height sensing
- Automatic homing or referencing
- Easy jogging controls
- Integrated CAM toolpath creation
- DXF direct upload
- Easy-to-understand graphical interface
- Job save and recall function
